As one of my first jobs right out of college, it was a newbie’s dream to be able to work on a Marvel film. Especially one that changed the game like Guardians of the Galaxy. We were asked by Marvel Studios to present designs for the title treatment of their film. Inspired by the rock & roll 80s style of the music listened to by Chris Pratt’s character, Peter Quill. We designed a few logos reminiscent of an epic space film and an 80s rock album cover. After presenting a few options our client at Marvel Studios chose one of my logo designs that you now see across the trilogy. I was so excited to have done the initial vector design and then worked alongside a team of motion designers to design and animate the 3D text design for the logo and graphic cards seen in the trailer. We also designed a custom font for the trailer graphics that was built off of the initial title treatment design.
