When your mysterious new friend goes missing, what would you do to get her back? That is the question my team and I asked ourselves when we were tapped to work on the teaser trailers for Lionsgate’s new film, A Simple Favor. With hints of murder, sex, and a killer wardrobe, we took those touch points and ran.

My team and I designed the first teaser using photo manipulation to remove Emily (Blake Lively) from moments in the film, touching on the focal storyline of the film. The second teaser trailer was a fully custom-designed piece inspired by Saul Bass, utilizing graphic elements from the film to create a dynamic interplay with the film footage. Both pieces posed the same intriguing question to our audience: What happened to Emily?
