2017 Academy Awards In Memoriam Reel

MY ROLE: Motion Designer, Graphic Designer

In 2017, I had the honor to work on the 89th Annual Academy Awards In Memoriam Reel. Every year, during the Academy Awards, a reel is played showing the multi-talented men and women of the entertainment industry that we lost over the last year. On my team, I was tasked with coming up with the look & feel of the graphics. Showing how we would incorporate footage and images of the talent with elegant graphics. Once a design was chosen, I helped a team of motion designers to animate the graphics, footage, images, and other elements in the package. In the video below, elegant graphics come alive in the heart-tugging segment, which was set to a live performance by Sara Bareilles of Joni Mitchell™ Both Sides, Now and honored the great talents we lost in 2016 in some of their most iconic roles.
